The matte black fire pit is made with steel material and is coated with heat resistant finish whereas the stainless steel version doesn’t rust.
The wood-burning, smokeless fire pit can withstand high temperatures due to its steel material and heat-resistant finish. However, it is normal for the finish to “patina” and slightly change color with use. This is common with any steel fire pit.
The Dragonfire® fire pit is designed to eliminate smoke with proper use. It is common to have some smoke escape the fire pit when the fire is first ignited. This will cease once the fire is burning and the air is circulating. Also, note to keep the firewood below the top inside diamond vents when burning. This will ensure the best performance and air circulation.
The Backyard Fire Pit Bundle has a larger diameter and weighs more than the Portable Fire Pit Bundle. Both fire pits can easily be transported from one place to another, but the Portable Fire Pit was designed specifically for this purpose.
We highly recommend dry seasoned hardwood logs for the best fire experience.
The Dragonfire® fire pit burns very efficiently and as an example, 20 lbs. of hardwood logs (roughly 2 armload bundles) will burn thoroughly and create about 6 ounces of fine ash.
We do not recommend using the Dragonfire® fire pit on any deck with wood or composite material. We recommend using the Dragonfire® fire pit on concrete, pavers, pavement, natural ground, rock, and gravel surfaces only.
Yes! It is safe to roast marshmallows, hot dogs, and other foods over the fire pit. With the added Dragonfire® Grill Grate you can cook any of your favorite grilled meats. Use the grill grate when coals are established and not during a roaring fire.
We recommend dumping the ash out of the fire pit after every use. For a deep clean wipe down the fire pit with a soft cloth. DO NOT USE SCOURING PADS, HOUSEHOLD CLEANERS, OR CHEMICALS TO CLEAN THE FIRE PIT, AS THIS WILL DAMAGE THE FINISH.

Quick and smokeless, what’s not to like?
We got this for a new backyard fire pit area and are extremely happy with it. The shipping was quick and straight to the house, and the installation did not take as long as some of the other fire pits we’ve bought in the past. Our big issue was we wanted something smokeless and so far this really fits the bill. We’re so happy we got this and are now ready for the northwest summer!
Good enough and versatile
I purchased the grill grate and will say that it is a great addition to get. All the parts fit very neatly and securely together. This product looks good. It is elevated enough that I had no hesitation to use it on a wooden deck. I wish the spark screen fit over the grill grate – the handles of the grill grate get in the way of it going on straight. The entire product is constructed of thinner metal than expected. This is good for heating up and cooling down quickly. However, the grill grate and spark screen started to warp slightly after only one use. I was concerned about how much heat would actually radiate off of the double-walled setup. It’s plenty for a 60*f evening, sitting a few feet away from it. I would not use this to heat a larger diameter of space – it’s more for ambiance or to sit directly around. The double-walled feature to get a second flame to reduce smoke works okay – the fire has to be perfect for it to have a noticeable effect. When you get that 2nd burn, it’s actually a very effective little fire. The nylon cover is also a great addition that comes with the grill. All in all, I looked around, this double-walled pit is the best value I found, and I’m not disappointed.
